Description: LPI 101 Certification Exam is the entry level for those seeking LPI Certification or Ubuntu Certified Professional status. There are no official prerequisites, although it is recommended that candidates have either taken the LPI 101 Training course or LPI 101 Online Training.

Prerequisites: Candidates my write LPIC101 and LPIC102 exams in any order.

Assessment: Candidates sit a 90 minute exam in multiple choice format. Linux administration knowledge in the following skills set is tested:

* Hardware & Architecture
* Linux Installation & Package Management
* GNU & Unix commands
* Advanced command line (commands, file manipulation, etc)
* Routine administration (users, groups, permissions, scheduling, etc)
* Hardware devices
* The file system (mounting, linking, etc)
* The shell
* Installing and maintaining software
* Initialization, shutdown and runlevels
* Services, scheduling and jobs
* The X Window System

Accreditation: LPI 101 Certification Exam (with Exam 102 this leads to LPI Level 1 Certification)
